The Leadership of the Malta Human Services Foundation

The Foundation is managed by its Board of Directors. The Board can have no more than seventeen members nor less than three.

The President or the Chancellor of the American Association, or a designee of the President is a member of the Foundation Board. The Hospitaller of the American Association is also a member of the Foundation Board. As many as two Directors do not have to be members of the Order of Malta. At all times, a majority of the Board must be composed of Directors who have been appointed by the American Association Board of Councillors and who are also members of the American Association Board of Councillors .

The Foundation Nominating Committee recommends individuals to replace the Directors who are neither members of the Board of Councillors nor members of the Order of Malta . Their recommendations must be approved by the Foundation Board of Directors and the American Association Board of Councillors.

At the present time, the Board of Directors is composed of seventeen (17) members, its maximum number; of which nine (9) are members of the Board of Directors of the American Association and eight (8) are non-Board of Councillor Members of the American Association. The terms of the Board of Councillor Members are co-terminus with their terms on the Board of Councillors of the Association and the terms of the non-Board of Councillor Members are three years.

The Board of Directors of the Foundation elects a President, Secretary and Treasurer each for one year terms. All officers may be reelected without limit.
